Q: Do I need to empty the gas tank?
A: Yes, the gas tank must be completely empty for container shipments. However, for RO/RO shipments, the tank can be one-quarter full, according to U.S. Coast Guard regulations.

Q: Do I need to take my license plates of the vehicle?
A: Yes, license plates are frequently stolen as souvenirs.

Q: Will the from the ocean salt water damage my automobile?
A: No,  all of the major vehicle manufacturers (G.M., Chrysler, Toyota, etc.) ship their new vehicles via RO/RO Carrier.

Q: Do I need the original vehicle title in order to ship my vehicle?
A: Yes. A vehicle will only be cleared by U.S. Customs with the original title present.  

Q: What kind of personal items can I place in my vehicle for shipping?
A: If the vehicle is shipped in a container, any personal items can be placed in the vehicle. No personal items can stay in the vehicle, except for a jack and a spare tire if it is being shipped via RO/RO service.

Q: Am I  allowed to ship my leased vehicle overseas?
A: Yes, but  you must obtain an original Notarized letter from the lien-holder giving you permission to ship the automobile, and you must have the original title attached to this letter. 

Q: What do I need to deal with U.S. customs?
A: No, we do the work for you to get the final approval on your shipment by providing to you the required export forms. However, you will need to provide all commercial invoices and sign export forms.

 

Q: How about  foreign customs?
A: Many foreign government require that you provide receipts for any new merchandise in your shipment in order collect duties.

 

Q: Do I need  to purchase insurance for my vehicle while on-board a vessel?
A: Yes, separate insurance coverage may be purchased through our office.  We strongly recommend that you purchase insurance for your vehicle while on-board the vessel. The "full Coverage" replaces the cost of the car, dents, scratches and shipping costs, and the "Total Loss" replaces the value of the car only.

Q: Is there a limit of liability for steamship companies?
Yes. By Maritime Law, steamship companies are limited to a liability of no more than $500 per vehicle.

Q: Can I track my shipment?
Not at this time. This feature will be available on this site at a future date.
